Adventure Ashram

About us

We are a small, but mighty charity driven by a spirit of adventure to directly support vital anti-human trafficking and education grassroot projects in India. Our mission is to help the world’s poorest communities that live in the places we explore.

Adventure Ashram have supported thousands of women and children fleeing situations of human trafficking, domestic violence and child marriage and have helped hundreds of vulnerable children access education and ongoing healthcare.

Alongside our Indian grassroots partners, we have helped rescue and rehabilitate more than 13,000 women & children, re-unite 1400 trafficked children with their families and helped more than 500 underprivileged children access education.

Donations help us cover the running costs of two safe houses in Mysore for women and children fleeing situations of human trafficking and domestic violence, stage brothel rescues to illegal brothels run by underground trafficking gangs and provide therapeutic services to the young survivors.

The young survivors receive the support they need to overcome past traumas and rebuild their lives. The survivors gain access to education and tailored therapeutic support including counselling, yoga, karate, acupuncture, social services and legal support. Research shows that almost a quarter of trafficking victims are re-trafficked, which is why it is important for residents to be well-prepared for life outside of the safe houses. The residents are provided with vocational training opportunities through the bakery school, mechanics workshop and beautician school. These training programs enable the residents to learn a trade, gain financial independence and eventually reintegrate into mainstream society as confident, empowered young people.
